should i buys this old fridge for the house and whats a kegerator?
hello
i want to buy an old white westinghouse fridge exactly like the red one in the picture that’s nearby me. the guy wants to sell it for cheap. but thing is al lthe sites i been to. seems to be the people are using it in their garages and not the houses. why is that? it don’t belong in the house or something? this will be my first place! and it will be all vintage too decor wise. what’s a kegerator and does this type of fridge i wanna buy belong in the house or garage ty.

these old fridges end up in the garage because they’re not pretty anymore…. if they are still working, they’re counted on to keep the beer cold if nothing else….. and that’s a ‘kegerator’… it keeps the beer or a keg, cold….the only thing about using one IN the house is that you would tend to depend on it… and if it went out, you’d play hail finding parts or finding a serviceman to work on it…. plus the fact that they use twice the power the newer ones do…..
you could do like a lot of folks who love antique stoves and such… keep the shell and have newer ‘innards’ put into it….
I’d still go for it….. *smile*…..
